According to the Governor's Office of Student Achievement, 50.3 percent of Clarke County students graduated high school within four years in 2004. The county is extremely poor with 28.6 percent of individuals living below the poverty line compared to a national average of 12.4 percent according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Sade Greene dropped out of high school after the tenth grade. She is now 18.
Every weekend, Jack and Penny Sparks drive their four children, three girls and a boy, to motocross races across the Southeast.
Anita Lollipop Bowers was displaced from New Orleans, Louisiana by Hurricane Katrina and was relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ms. Bowers participated in a tradition of women dressing up in Babydoll costumes while doing community service in New Orleans.
Dr. Deryl Bailey has dedicated the past twenty years to his Empowered Youth Programs. He has no children of his own.
